WVU IMC Program Website

This website was designed and developed for the WVU IMC program. For this project the program's existing site was deconstructed and completely rebuilt to reflect the current needs of the program. During the discovery phase of the site redevelopment I did an extensive audit of the existing content in which every member of the IMC team gave their feedback. I then defined the goals for the new site and identified what did and did not work with the current site. I then took these internal suggestions and looked closely at the site's analytics to see if our inferences were correct. We also conducted two online focus groups with current students and recent graduates to share our ideas and get feed back. We found that several aspects of the existing site were strong. For example, the navigation and curriculum sections were praised by the students. We also found, though, that some things that students wanted to see more of, like student and faculty profiles, were lacking. Armed with all this information I then explored countless other .edu sites and academic programs to see how others did things like information architecture and site design.

The resulting website has a clean look that has been established by the IMC brand while adding a lot more changing content, particularly on the home page. We also added elements to the site that help build the program's reputation as a thought leader in the field of IMC.
